Some jobs are straightforward. You show up, load the truck, and you're done in a couple hours. This was not one of those jobs. Five flights of stairs, a fully packed apartment, and zero shortcuts available. Everything had to come down by hand, one load at a time.
Here's what we were working with - a space that had accumulated years worth of stuff. Furniture, appliances, boxed rubbish, loose items stacked floor to ceiling. A microwave, a window AC unit, shelving units full of canisters, desks overflowing with papers and tools. The kind of space where you take a breath before you even figure out where to start.
And then there were the stairs. Five flights, no freight elevator, no easy way down. Just us, the load, and however many trips it was going to take. That's the reality of multi-floor junk removal in older Los Angeles apartment buildings - the building isn't built for convenience, and neither is the job. You either do the work or you don't.
We did the work. Every piece of furniture, every bag of rubbish, every loose item - carried down and loaded onto the truck until the space was cleared. What you end up with after a job like this is a room that actually has floor space again. Wood floors visible from wall to wall, the clutter completely gone.
That's what we do - household junk removal, furniture removal, appliance hauling, full apartment cleanouts. Doesn't matter how many flights of stairs are between us and the truck. The job gets done.
